CO2 Emission Reports
Clients are seeking to bring the outdoors into their homes when extending their property. This may be via a conservatory (physically open to the main dwelling) which is predominantly glazed or garden rooms which have traditional tiled roofs but large amounts of glazing in the walls.
Approved Document L of the Building Regulations 2000 (as amended) limits the amount of glazing to 25% of the total internal area of the extension unless the proposed design can be proven by calculations to be no worse than an notional extension.
This is where we can help. CNC CS can provide the client with the necessary assessment and design advice to incorporate additional glazing in the proposed design and still meet with the requirements of the Building Regulations.
We would recommend that we are engaged as soon as possible in order to maximise the design options available and to limit any abortive work. We will work alongside the client and their designer to advise and recommend on the necessary improvements required to offset the additional glazing required by the client.
Our standard service assumes that the design is well advanced and we are engaged to assess the submitted design.
Whereas, our consultancy service provides you (and your design team) with design advice which will enabling you to explore a range of solutions to make cost effective and commercially viable decisions.
